Every year the Flansburg team looks forward to attending the Remodelers Advantage Summit, one of the most invigorating and informative industry events, and this year was no exception. We recently headed to Chicago to connect with fellow remodeling experts on the state of the industry, get a pulse on the trends to expect in 2024, and network with colleagues from all over the country.

This year’s theme was “Breakthrough: The Art of Overcoming Adversity”. It felt especially appropriate in light of the challenges that our industry has faced over the last few years, from supply chain issues to inflation. With a strong and encouraging message from the Keynote Speaker, Vince Poscente (who is an expert on resiliency), as well as a curated series of targeted workshops and breakout sessions, this year’s event provided tons of valuable information. Events like this help top companies prepare for success in the coming year, and beyond.

With 700 attendees, 38 speakers, 28 partners, and 32 different workshops, this enormous event had something to support everyone’s industry goals, providing valuable takeaways at every turn.

As a member of the Remodelers Advantage Roundtables Group (and Roundtables MVP award winner, to boot!) our owner, Dan Flansburg, shared some of his key takeaways from this year’s event:

“There are plenty of experts out there,” Dan said, “but there are few that create great relationships and deliver expert results.”

First, being a design-build industry expert is so important to the clients that we serve at Flansburg Construction, but even more so is cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, team members, and vendors.

Second, the secret to a successful business—no matter what the industry—is strong leadership, which isn’t always inherent, but rather a skill that must be learned and practiced in order to become effective.

As we move forward into a busy 2024, these lessons will help form an even stronger framework for us to continue to grow and flourish!
