Thinking about renovating your kitchen to improve the overall look of your home? You should probably go ahead with it since, according to Zillow, even a minor kitchen remodel can give you an average ROI of about 81.1%! Here’s how working with a kitchen remodeling company can help improve the look of your home.

Updated Kitchen Style

Everyone wants a beautiful kitchen. If you decide to go ahead with a remodel, you can easily implement fundamental design elements like texture, space, and color to create a modern-looking kitchen. For a lot of homeowners, making decisions about what to do with the focal points is the best part of a kitchen renovation. This can be a difficult task, so consult your remodeling company for some modern ideas. Chances are that a lot has changed since you built or bought your house. As such, a remodel will give you the chance to match current design trends and throw in modern appliances and technology.

Better Lighting

Proper lighting is essential for all the rooms in your home, and the kitchen is no exception. You should never overlook the importance of lighting in the kitchen. In fact, you should take enough time to research and discuss your options with your remodeler. You’ll want to figure out what type of lighting to install and where to install it. Lighting creates a brightly lit work area, which not only ensures safety as you cook but makes your home more comfortable as well. If you have the proper amount of lighting, you’ll also be able to clean your kitchen more effectively. This can help make you confident in the cleanliness of your space and also highlights all the beautiful aspects of your kitchen.

Bigger, More Functional Cooking Space

Like many homeowners, you probably use your kitchen to prepare meals. Renovation is a great way to improve your kitchen’s functionality and achieve your culinary goals. It allows you to optimize your layout, meaning you can choose to install new countertops, professional appliances, lights, and beautiful floors to create a more practical-looking space. This will also make your home much more appealing. Increasing the space in your kitchen will also make it more luxurious looking. You can discuss how to improve the look and functionality of your kitchen with your kitchen remodeling company as they will have some great design ideas in mind.

A kitchen renovation is a great way to increase the value of your home while improving the overall look and feel. However, for the best results, you must work with a reliable kitchen renovation company. According to Statista, in 2020, 33% of homeowners resolved to upgrade their bathroom because they were fed up with the out-of-fashion appearance. Considering the bathroom is where you freshen up, it should be appealing and relaxing. Perhaps you, too, are tired of the appearance of your bathroom and are considering a renovation. Here are some trending master bathroom renovation ideas to consider implementing with the help of reputable bathroom remodeling contractors.

1. Replacing Shower Speakers

One thing that can give your master bathroom a modern appeal is installing sleek in-ceiling shower speakers over the traditional suction-cup shower speakers. These sleek in-ceiling shower speakers readily connect to voice assistants like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. This means you will enjoy the convenience of hearing your favorite music hands-free. You just say the song title, and music fills your space.

2. Incorporating a Heated Towel Rack

Another great way bathroom remodeling contractors can upgrade your master bathroom is by introducing a heated towel rack. The heated towel rack is essential because it makes it easy to dry towels. You can enjoy the warmth of a heated towel after a cool shower!

3. Adding Floating Shelves

If your master bathroom lacks enough storage space, adding floating shelves is the best way to solve this problem. They have the significant benefit of eliminating the need for huge cabinets, which goes a long way to creating the illusion of a spacious bathroom.

4. Updating Master Bathroom Mirrors

Adding large mirrors to a master bathroom can have many benefits. For example, they can make a small space seem larger. In addition, they’re also great for creating the illusion of light in darker spaces, which is helpful if you need more natural light but cannot get it into your bathroom.

5. Changing the Lighting Options

Another great master bathroom renovation idea is to supplant lighting. There are a few options to consider, from adding overhead lights to installing recessed lighting to putting in a chandelier. All these styles give off a different type of light and feel, which will change the atmosphere of your bathroom.

These are some of the best ways to renovate your master bathroom in 2022. Don’t continue using the same old-looking bathroom you’ve used for years – call our bathroom remodeling contractors in New Jersey today! We will work magic to give your master bathroom the look you’ve been yearning for.

How To Know It’s Time for a Bathroom Remodel

A significant cause of distress is your formerly magnificent bathroom showing signs of age. While home renovation projects are costly, they’re incredibly worthwhile investments, even if you don’t intend to sell your home in the foreseeable future. Your local bathroom remodeling contractor can transform your mundane bathroom into an area of paradise. Read on to identify four ways to recognize when your bathroom needs remodeling.

Your Bathroom Looks Outdated

According to research, approximately 50% of homes were constructed before the 80s in the United States. As much as your home may have been a relic when you first got it, modernizing it will significantly increase its value and reflect who you are now. If you intend to sell your home, use neutral colors like gray and white hues. They will transform your old-fashioned bathroom into a timeless wonder.

There’s Conspicuous Damage

Wear and tear are inevitable after years of use, and while it may seem ordinary, it’s most likely to result in dire issues. Peeling paint, brown patches, and crumbling walls and ceilings are signs of water leaks and can cause significant structural damage if not addressed promptly. Leaking faucets and fixtures can cause your water bill to skyrocket, while chips and cracks on tiles can lead to accidental cuts and throw off the general aesthetic of your bathroom. Taking care of these issues by remodeling your bathroom will save you money on repairs and improve the appearance of your bathroom simultaneously. It’s advisable to call in your local bathroom remodeling contractor from our New Jersey team to ensure the job gets done efficiently.

You Have Mold Trouble

Mold overspread can give your bathroom an old smell and ruin its aesthetic appearance. Mold is often caused by poor ventilation, broken pipes, moisture from steamy showers, and more. Signs of mold include blistering sheet rocks, ant infestation, green and black spots, and discolored wallpaper. You can fix a mild mold issue by streamlining your bathroom’s ventilation system or cleaning with bleach. Although, remodeling your bathroom is the most efficient way of dealing with mold. Make sure you hire a professional to guarantee safety and certainty.

There’s Poor Lighting

In this age of social media, where most people take pictures in their bathroom mirrors, it’s vital to have good lighting to capture a great shot. Also, it’s essential to have good lighting to go through your daily routine with ease and safety. You can deal with poor lighting by updating the lighting scheme, installing a lighted vanity mirror, or even installing a skylight. You can also extend your bathroom window to allow more natural light to flow. Contact a local bathroom remodeling contractor in New Jersey to give your bathroom a much-needed upgrade.

If you notice any of the above signs in your bathroom, then it’s time for you to remodel. It will enhance your bathroom’s allure and increase your home’s value. Contact us today to get started with our bathroom remodeling services.

Bathroom Remodel Elevates Century-Old Home

This 112-year-old home in Lawrenceville, NJ was in great condition for its age when our client purchased it, but she wanted to implement some changes to really make the space her own—and one of the first projects on her list was a bathroom renovation.

Re-Doing an Old Remodel

The previous homeowners had done some awkward remodeling in the space that definitely needed to be changed. Apart from the cosmetic updates (new tile, new cabinets, built-in shower seating and more), there were also issues behind the walls that needed correction.

Our to-do list included:

·       Gutting the space

·       Adding a bench seat to the shower

·       Putting in new drywall

·       Replacing the electrical components, including a new exhaust fan

·       Installing new: shower tile, bathtub, cabinets, accessories, and flooring

·       Finishing off the space with fresh paint and trim

Our lead designer, Bernadette, worked with the client to create a traditional yet modern look that fit the architecture of the house perfectly. Together, they chose a clean 4×10-inch white subway tile for the shower, a gorgeous quartz countertop and matching bench seat, faucets and a shower valve by Hansgrohe, and a one-piece toilet by Toto. The 24×24-inch floor tiles help the bathroom feel even bigger.

Adding the Final Touches

The client also asked that our team update a closet in the primary bedroom and remodel a powder room as well.

Bernadette and the client had a lot of fun with the powder room renovation. Although it’s a small space, we were able to make a big statement with a beautiful black-and-white patterned floor tile and a sleek, compact sink.

In the end, the client was happy with the finished results!

When Is It Time to Invest in Home Renovations?

About 80% of homes in the U.S. require remodeling because they are about 20 years old, according to Comfy Living. Old homes sometimes have outdated kitchens and unfinished basements that need remodeling. This is where a reputable home renovation contractor comes in. But how do you decide it’s time to tweak your home setup?

Below are three signs that’ll help you know if it’s time to invest in home renovations and hire a home renovation contractor.

1. You Don’t Plan to Move Out Soon

If you’ve decided to spend your lifetime in your current home, it’s justifiable to want to improve its overall appearance. The cost of remodeling varies depending on the extent of renovations you plan to pursue. Some homeowners invest heavily to update the kitchen or making your attic and basement habitable.

You can always talk to a home renovation contractor to see what renovations that will stay fresh for a longer time period. Expert advice can help you make more informed decisions about improving the look and feel of your home.

2. Your Home Equity Is Substantial

At a national level, home values have gone up, and many property owners are sitting on a fair amount of home equity. For starters, equity is the portion of your home that you own outright, and you calculate it by subtracting the current mortgage balance from the market value of your home.

Your home equity is important because you can borrow against it. So, don’t be afraid to take that home equity loan to make the tweaks you need to your home.

3. You Want to Update Based on Personal Preferences

You may have some preferences for your home, which may motivate you to seek the services of a home renovation contractor. For example, you may want a greener home after learning more about the environment and how we impact it. If that’s the case, you may be interested in a kitchen renovation and new energy-efficient kitchen appliances.

If you’re ready to renovate your home, contact a qualified and experienced home renovation contractor. Our team at Flansburg Construction is happy to answer your questions and discuss a plan for your home renovation project.
